Linux kernel ============ There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or ``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at: https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/ There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory, several of them using the reStructuredText markup notation. Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.

It's the responsibility of a correctly written DRM modeset driver to call drm_atomic_helper_shutdown() at shutdown time and that should be disabling / unpreparing the panel if needed. Panel drivers shouldn't be calling these functions themselves. A recent effort was made to fix as many DRM modeset drivers as possible [1] [2] [3] and most drivers are fixed now. A grep through mainline for compatible strings used by this driver indicates that it is used by Rockchip boards. The Rockchip driver appears to be correctly calling drm_atomic_helper_shutdown() so we can remove the calls.
