• @arnau this cause a small difference in behaviour. The use case of that is:

    def func(optional_arg=_MARKER):
      if optional_arg is _MARKER:
        "optional_arg was not passed"

    every [] are different in is check, so we can detect the case where the optional argument is not passed, but two () are equal, so calling with func(()) in that example would cause the "optional_arg was not passed".

    In other places we use MARKER = object(), this works the same and I think pylint would not complain.

  • Indeed. Thanks for pointing it out. I will use object() which works. I have seen that you disabled such pylint warning for the MARKER = [] pattern and I think it should not be done (use object() instead).

  • Thanks, yes maybe I disabled, but that was a mistake, MARKER=object() seems the best solution.

  • Done in my branch (1305c25c).

  • thanks !

Help on Notification Tool

This tool is useful to manage notifications.
It is used as a central point to send messages from one
user to one or many users. The purpose of the tool
is to provide an API for sending messages which is
independent on how messages are actually going to be
sent and when.
This early implementation only provides asynchronous
email sending.
