Most of the exotic languages don't have different names in many
languages, so these are often not translatable.

In most cases underlaying implementation does not properly handle when
some format string is omitted from the string, so let users override the
cases where it works.

For languages like Chinese asking for more than two chars is ridiculous
(issue #335).
